Client Consultation & Proposal Development:  Serve as the primary scientific liaison for clients, leading technical discussions to understand their project goals, challenges, and specific requirements.  Critically evaluate client requests and design comprehensive, scientifically sound project plans and proposals.  Clearly articulate project strategies, timelines, deliverables, and potential risks to clients and internal stakeholders. Scientific Strategy & Design:  Design optimal strategies for protein expression by selecting the most suitable system (E. coli, insect cell, or mammalian (transient/stable) based on protein characteristics and downstream applications.  Conceptualize and design protein constructs, including decisions on tags, cleavage sites, and mutations to maximize expression and solubility.  Develop multi-step, high-purity purification protocols utilizing a range of chromatography techniques (e.g., Affinity, IEX, SEC, HIC).  Provide expert guidance on strategies for challenging targets, including membrane proteins. Project Oversight & Execution:  Direct and oversee the entire lifecycle of multiple protein science projects, from initial design to final report generation and protein shipment.  Analyze and interpret data, troubleshoot complex scientific and technical challenges in expression and purification, and make critical decisions to ensure project success.  Provide scientific leadership, mentorship, and technical guidance to a team of research associates and junior scientists.  Ensure all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Documentation & Communication:  Maintain meticulous and accurate records of project design, experimental procedures, and results.  Prepare and review comprehensive study reports, technical summaries, and presentations for clients.  Communicate project progress, results, and any deviations from the plan to clients in a clear and timely manner.
