This position is the System Integrator role for Cooking in Asia BU, and needs to work together with internal global cross functional teams and external supplier teams. In this role, you will be the technical leader and manage the new product technical development following the Whirlpool Product Development (WPD) process. And also you will lead the problem solving for ECN and product architecture D2D issues. Major product category: cooking products such as cooktop, hood, oven, free standing range, etc. Lead project scoping for new product development project initiation. Lead the team to set up plan for new project scoping, align the timeline for 4 scoping events: kickoff, feasibility, lockdown and close Drive and track team deliverables according to scoping plan Organize high-level technical feasibility evaluation for the new project request, lay out a high-level project development plan, including engineering development timeline and expense. Highlight the technical risk and knowledge gaps. Lead or partner with project lead to organize cross-functional teams and suppliers to deliver new product development projects. As project lead to drive project team deliverables as per Whirlpool Product Development process, be accountable for project KPIs, conduct gate review to get key stakeholders’ approval to proceed the project to the next stage. Or partner with project lead, be accountable for engineering deliverables. Lead the engineering solution integration, deliver technical recommendations for project stage maturity review and gate review decision Convert the VOC & VOX into technical requirements Work with V&V and cross-functional team to define and execute verification and validation plan. Surface technical risk and knowledge gaps, organize the engineering analysis for risk assessment, trade-off alignment and problem solving. Work with supplier and internal team to manage product BOM, sale release (product specification), deliver engineering documents (included silkscreen design, user Manual, rating labels, wiring diagram etc.) Work with supplier and internal team to manage the sample build, review, 3rd party certification and other engineering activities, control the product development expense. Validate technical risk mitigation, complete Global Product Approval (GPA) for new product release. Lead Architecture post launch maintenance (ECN, D2D activities) Be alert to consumer feedback on the product performance, organize quick action or propose new projects to drive cost and quality continuous improvement Work with Supplier Quality team to manage supplier change request Support other Day to Day engineering activities Background and Experiences Bachelor's degree in Mechanical engineering or electrical/electronic engineering Be familiar with home appliances, 5+ years experience in R&D or manufacturing or product testing. R&D is preferred. Proven people leadership capabilities inside project teams responsible for delivering new products or services. Be familiar with APQP, FMEA, DFS, DFR Efficient English communication in writing and reading. Being able to host meetings with a global team in English is preferred. OPEX / 6 Sigma Black Belt trained/certified - Nice to have PMP (PMI) Certified -Nice to have
