About the Role Based in Yongkang, the Production Engineer acts as Reduce’s on-site manufacturing engineering lead, supporting partner factories across Yongkang, Quzhou and Taizhou. Reporting and collaborating closely with Product Development and Product Integrity/QC Manager, this hands-on role owns new product transition from final design through tooling, pilot production, mass production and shipment readiness. You will conduct DFM reviews, oversee tooling and process development, manage pilot runs, troubleshoot production issues, and ensure factories meet Reduce’s engineering, quality, cost, timeline and compliance requirements. You have authority to stop or reject non-compliant work. Key Responsibilities Serve as primary bilingual technical bridge between Reduce’s Atlanta team and Chinese manufacturers; identify risks early and drive corrective actions to closure. Core products: insulated drinkware and food storage containers. Perform DFM review on engineering drawings, 3D models and specs before tooling release. Evaluate and resolve manufacturing risks for stainless steel deep drawing, hydroforming, CNC spinning, vacuum brazing, welding, injection molding, assembly and finishing. Use GD&T, tolerance analysis and material knowledge to recommend design optimizations. Manage tooling development for injection molds, deep-draw dies, hydroforming tooling, gauges and fixtures. Review tool drawings, attend tool trials, approve/reject tooling and samples, track tool schedules and escalate risks. Own NPI pilot runs: planning, factory execution, documentation, issue resolution and final sign-off. Verify readiness of tooling, materials, process parameters and inspection plans before pilot. Document findings and drive corrective actions prior to mass production release. Optimize production workflows, line layouts and control plans. Identify bottlenecks and yield loss; implement Lean / Six Sigma improvements. Apply DFMEA and PFMEA to prevent production failures. Partner with QC team to embed quality, safety and compliance throughout development. Lead root-cause analysis and CAPA for production defects. Stop production or hold shipments when requirements are not met. Validate insulated product performance including vacuum retention, thermal performance, leak and drop tests. Maintain regular on-site factory visits, build relationships with factory engineering, production and quality teams. Travel between Yongkang, Quzhou and Taizhou factories; US travel is not required. Required Skills Strong practical knowledge of product engineering, CAD solid modeling, tooling, tolerances and manufacturing processes. Hands-on factory floor mindset, capable of on-site troubleshooting and verification of corrective actions. Decisive, analytical and collaborative; skilled in root-cause analysis, CAPA, DFMEA/PFMEA and quality data interpretation. Able to manage multiple concurrent tooling and NPI projects independently under tight launch schedules. Fluent written and spoken English and Mandarin. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Industrial / Manufacturing Engineering or related technical discipline. Minimum 5 years manufacturing / process engineering, tooling or NPI experience in factory environment. Preferred background: metal forming, hard goods, housewares, insulated drinkware or food storage products. Ability to read engineering drawings, GD&T and 3D CAD models; SolidWorks proficiency preferred. Practical experience in injection molding, deep drawing, hydroforming, CNC spinning, brazing, welding and assembly. Working knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, control plans and CAPA; relevant certifications a plus. Reside in or willing to relocate to Yongkang, Zhejiang.
